Fresh Herbs at your Fingertips

  1. Thanks! I've heard of people freezing herbs like cilantro and basil. Is that a good way to go?

  2. Megan,
Thanks for your question. Actually freezing fresh herbs is not a good idea, as the water will freeze
and make them mushy. You'll want to be sure dry them first, or add them to other things like butter
    to help preserve them.

  3. I learned another trick. If you have them in the garden, cut them like cut flowers and just put them in a jar of water on your counter. They will stay fresh for several days and the smell is wonderful!

  4. You're right! This is especially true of basil and mint. Thanks for your input, Linda.
